Wings of Hope: Running for Our Angels – Fastest Half & Full Marathon dress as a bird for Tommy's

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 & London Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025
Over the past few years, my partner and I’ve faced the unimaginable pain of losing three precious babies during pregnancy. Our son, Luca, was born sleeping at 22 weeks in 2022. We lost another baby at just 12 weeks in 2023, and most recently, our daughter, Lelia, at 20 weeks in 2024. The grief and heartbreak from these losses are unlike anything we’ve ever experienced, and it has been an incredibly challenging journey for both of us.
During this incredibly painful time, we found solace and support through Tommy’s, an organisation dedicated to ending the heartbreak of baby loss and making pregnancy and birth safer for everyone. They provide vital information, guidance, and support, which has been essential for us as we navigate our grief and future pregnancy attempts.
As a way to honour the memory of our three beautiful children and to give back to an organisation that has helped us, I am setting out on a challenging journey. I will be attempting to break the world record for the fastest half marathon and full marathon while dressed as a three-dimensional robin (bird) - a symbol of our loved ones who have left us, coming to say hello. It’s not only a personal challenge for me but a way to raise funds for Tommy’s so they can continue their crucial work.
Your donations will help Tommy's in their mission to find causes and treatments for pregnancy loss and to provide trusted information and support to families like ours. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to saving babies' lives and preventing others from experiencing the heartbreak we have endured.
I will be taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2025 and the London Marathon in 2025, and I hope you will join me in this journey. Together, let’s honour our lost babies, and support the vital work of Tommy’s.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
