Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In August a relay team of four work colleagues (Stephen Taylor, Eoghan Quigley, Will Lacey & Andrew O'Malley) are taking on the challenge of 'Run The Borders', a 109km trail run around the Borders Abbey Way passing through the Border towns of Melrose, Kelso, Jedburgh, Hawick and Selkirk.

We have chosen to support a local charity close to our place of work, Community Food and Friendship Blyth, which is a registered charity ran solely by volunteers.

Their work focusses on those who are living in homeless hostels or HMO housing in Blyth providing food, hot drinks, clothes and toiletries twice a week.

They also work with the local authority to provide emergency food boxes to the wider community when needed.

At Christmas they work with schools and buy presents for families who will struggle to buy for their children and we also deliver Christmas Eve Hampers by referral with food donated by local stores.

Their Strive for Blyth Project helps local schools be able to provide laptops/iPad for those families without technology to enable children to achieve by providing a level playing field.

We hope that you can spare a bit of time and money to help us support the volunteers at Community Food and Friendship Blyth in the great work that they do for the Blyth community.

Many thanks
