Gary's fundraiser for MANUP?

My Why?
Everyone on the planet, whether a man or not has a man in their life in one way or another. They could be a colleague, friend or acquaintance or family members or partners.
Us men often struggle too, with our mental health, but there is often a particular kind of stigma attached to mental health issues in men, or talking about our problems. We put on a brave face, insist we are ok and yet scream from our insides outwards. This is why when hearing about Manup? I really wanted to get involved as they are all about eradicating that stigma that prevents men like myself, perhaps you or someone who means something to you from seeking help. They have therapy sessions, events and provide signposting to help us get help. I have chosen Manup? for this reason and because they are a small charity local to me but wider reaching than just my local area.
In the UK suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50. I am in this age group and learning that statistic has brought home the sheer number of suicidal thoughts and even previous self harm attempts I've had through my life alone and the thoughts of what would have been the way I dealt with things had I had a support network like them to turn to.
Manup? Are a small charity so your support, however small, will go a long way towards their mission.
I am going to complete the LDWA Norfolk and Suffolk 100 mile challenge event. Primarily it is a walker's event where runners are invited so there are generous cut offs. It will be a hell of a challenge and I appreciate all incentive tokens you can give me to keep spurring me along the way.
