Camp Mohawk are proud to be an official charity partner of The Reading Half Marathon and Green Park Challenge 2026. We provide families who have a child with a disability a safe place to access where the mainstream world can prove challenging.

Story

On the 22nd Feb and 22nd March 2026 I will be running the Wokingham and Reading half marathons to raise funds in support of Camp Mohawk. Camp Mohawk is a multi-functional day centre for children with special needs and their families, set in five acres of beautiful countryside, just outside Wargrave, Berkshire.

My six-year-old Granddaughter Grace has Autism. She is a beautiful, loving child who cannot be un-supervised for one moment as she lives in a world where there are no threats. An open window is an opportunity to climb out, roads are to be explored, and water is to be jumped in. She has no fear of hights, speed or drowning. I call her my little goat as she is an expert escape artist.

Camp Mohawk offers parents and families the opportunity to spend time together in a safe, well-staffed, environment, run by people who understand and care deeply about these special children and the challenges their families face.

My two sons-in-laws, Iain Johnson, Neil Campbell and my Nice Charlotte Morris are running with me and will be trying their best to keep up.

Any level of sponsorship helps, that you in advance for your support.
