I’m taking part in Cycle for a cure initially on Saturday 2nd September and then onto a week’s cycling in southern Italy for JDRF in October.

As many people will know the charity has been very close to my heart for many years being a T1 diabetic for over 40 years and having 2 daughters who were diagnosed very early on in life.

Undertaking these events will be an enormous challenge for me as I have only recently started cycling outdoors.

JDRF’s research has led to amazing developments in technology and treatments for type 1 diabetes and I have only just started learning to live life with an insulin pump, Omnipod having been used to multiple daily injections for many years which has certainly been life changing for me and I know for many others too. Every £ raised really makes a huge difference to continuing research programs ahead and wether you donate £1 or more this will all go towards helping such a great cause.
