Story
This year, I'm going to focus on quality not quantity. Last year proved just to be a little bit too far, in to short a time and really broke me. Add in a new job and the time I have for events is a little bit strained, but hey it all adds to the challenge right!?!!
So currently this is the plan, it may flux or change a bit at times, a few things may come in, once I know what the job is like and I understand what training I can commit too.
The first event is before the Job starts though... And it comes from conversations of people saying to me I won't be able to cycle anymore. To a point; they are right. But I have 13 days between leaving my old role and starting the new role. And I have a virtual way of doing the ride. And this has lead to me creating a Virtual Event around Plymouth, I'll post more details later, but it's one I'm excited about.
And then it's onto a Virtual Marathon, having missed out on the London Marathon yet again, I've signed up to do a virtual go at it. I have unfinished business with this event, having aimed for 4 hours and just missing out previously!
And I think most excitingly for me, I've gotten a spot in the Fred Whitton, The challenge spans 112 miles of breathtaking yet punishing terrain in the heart of the Lake District, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Riders will take on iconic climbs like Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott, Wrynose, and Blea Tarn passes.
Then an event I know well, but also have unfinished business; The Dragon Devil. I missed this event last year as I was broken. And I know I can do it quicker than I did last time, so there is my motivation for that one! I don't like unfinished business.
1st January - 12th January: 12 Days of Unemployment
27th April: Virtual London Marathon
22nd June: Dragon Ride
So there, hopefully that'll keep me out of trouble and raise some vital funds for Winston's Wish at the same time!
