London to Brighton Cycle September · 15 September 2024 ·

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK, 1 in 4 men from a black African/Caribbean background and 1 in 12 Asian men. Our mission is to talk to men to raise the awareness. We want to launch mobile PSA blood test units for men to get tested. Let's stop men from dying through ignorance and fear!

Story

Michelin Services & Solutions aka The Rusty Cogs cycle team are going to complete the London to Brighton cycle challenge on 15th September 2024

The team of riders are; Jonathan Layton, David Young, Edward Lamb, Tom Copping, Ross Hurford and Matt Neale

Support Vehicle driver; Fraser Greer

Chief Fundraiser, Operations, cheerleader, mascot and also in charge of team morale; Dave Coulson (Injured after one training ride)

This epic 55-mile challenge will not be straightforward with a mixture of ability and experience amongst the team - but one well worth the efforts if we can raise some funds for an amazing charity along the way.

Prostate Cancer affects, 1 in 4 men from a black African or Caribbean background, 1 in 8 white men and 1 in 12 Asian men in the UK. The charity's main mission is to make as many people as possible aware of the dangers, symptoms and testing available to them (Go get an MOT!). The Errol Mckellar Foundation wants to get more mobile units to make getting a simple PSA blood test easier (as there is no national screening programme today).

As a team of men, any donation however small, would be massively appreciated by the team and charity.

Training is underway and we will keep you updated on our progress and hopefully successful completion of the challenge!
