The Team Domenica swim challenge in Brighton - raising money for young people with learning disabilities to gain paid employment and reach their full potential.

Story

We are thrilled to be participating in the Great Lengths Swim Challenge 2024 to support Team Domenica, an incredible charity dedicated to empowering young people with learning disabilities.

Our team, Zingbats, is passionate about helping these individuals develop independence, confidence, communication, and work skills essential for employment. It's disheartening that only 4.8% of people with learning disabilities are employed in England, leading to increased mental health issues and chronic loneliness.

However, Team Domenica's impactful programme has achieved remarkable success, with 81% of candidates securing paid employment through their Supported Internship Programme and 95% still in work a year later - far surpassing the national average. Sam (who is one half of team Zingbats) is one of those people!

We are committed to this challenge to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young individuals. Can you join us in this inspiring journey?
