Story
Sarah, Ruth, Ashley and Lucy are taking Big Steps for Small Feet and walking 42km of the South Downs in support of The Lullaby Trust and in memory of Sarah's son Kit.
Kit died from the cold sore virus (HSV1) when he was just 13 days old; the virus went undiagnosed and therefore untreated until it was too late. After Kit died, Sarah and Kit's Dad James set up Kit Tarka Foundation to save the lives of other babies through raising awareness of HSV and other infections in newborn babies - including how to keep babies safe from infection. The Lullaby Trust are now doing an incredible job continuing that work - keeping Kit's legacy strong - ensuring lifesaving information and advice is reaching many more families and health professionals. They also give safer sleep advice which has significantly reduced the number of babies dying from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and provide essential support to bereaved parents.
Walking a marathon won't be easy, especially up and down the hills of the South Downs, so training has begun in earnest! We are taking on this epic challenge to help The Lullaby Trust continue this vital work so please help us keep babies safe by sponsoring us - every penny will be much appreciated 🧡
