Ruth's fundraiser for National Autistic Society

New York City Marathon 2024 · 3 November 2024 ·
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the TCS New York Marathon 2024 raising money for the National Autistic Society!
As many of you will know my daughter Libbie is autistic so this cause is very close to the hearts of my family and I.
Libbie was diagnosed when she was 14 and it was a long journey to receiving her diagnosis. I believe it shouldn’t be this way and that this process should be so much easier for children and their families. Diagnosis doesn’t change the fact that living with Autism can be a daily challenge but the right support and understanding from family and friends and charities like this one make all the difference ❤️
The National Autistic Society is the leading charity for autistic people and their families in the UK. Since 1962, the National Autistic Society has been providing support, guidance and advice, as well as campaigning for improved rights, services and opportunities to help create a society that works for autistic people.
What is autism?
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. More than one in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.
This will be my second full marathon having completed The London Marathon in October 2022. I’m so excited to be given this opportunity and am ready to commence my training and give this my all!
Thank you so much for your support!
Ruth xx
