Story

On Saturday 7th June, I’ll be walking The MS Walk Belfast, with some of my family. We’re getting our steps in to raise awareness, build community, and hopefully raise a bit of money for an amazing cause.

Some people, even some friends, might not know that Multiple Sclerosis (MS) has been a part of my life for a while now - guess this is my hard launch🚀- and while it’s not something I talk about widely, it’s something I’ve had to learn to live with, thanks to friends and family who have supported me through the relapses, the diagnosis, and the ongoing journey of figuring it all out - the real champions 🫶

I know it’s embarrassing to be fundraising for a short walk in the middle of marathon season. But the truth is, for me , and for many people living with MS, something like this has at times felt, or often still feels, totally impossible. There have been times when steps weren’t so easy, I’ve needed physio to get back on my feet after relapses and even sent Fitbit screenshots to celebrate eventually making past my apartment complex. So no steps are ever taken for granted now 👣

I’m not expecting to raise a fortune — but if I can raise anything, or help even one more person understand a bit more about MS, I’ll be happy. It’s my way of finally doing something (albeit tiny), instead of sitting on the sidelines and hoping others will fix it for us.

Even if you don’t donate, please take one minute to learn a little more about MS — it affects over 130,000 people in the UK alone.
