At Level Water, we use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.

Story

I love swimming. I've always loved swimming. In rivers, lakes, the sea, and the pool. I am happiest when I'm in (or on) water.

Unfortunately so many kids don't get the opportunity to learn to swim, there are so many barriers. I was lucky, I had an amazing swimming teacher, she was half woman, half frog! And I still hear Mrs Stone's voice in my head now when I'm pounding up and down the pool.

Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. They give young disabled people the opportunity to learn to swim. At an affordable cost, with an experienced and confident teacher so they can go on and enjoy water in any capacity, for the rest of their lives.

So because I like what they do, (and because I responded impulsively to a message on my street's What'sApp group looking for a replacement team member), I'm doing a thing.

I joined a team of 7 other women (who I haven't actually met yet) to take part in a 24 hour relay swim at Lake 32 at the Cotswold Water Park. I'm both excited and slightly terrified.

The biggest challenge for me, apart from staying awake, will be not freaking out when something touches my foot in a cold dark lake at 3am...

So if you fancy chucking me a few quid to encourage me along the way I would be most grateful :0)
