Story
In April 2026, I’m running the London Marathon, with my dear friends Lynne and Ali. Here’s a little bit about why I’m raising money for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland…
My God-daughter, Calla, was born in 2015, to Lynne and Ali. Calla faced multiple medical challenges, including major airway, heart, and stomach surgeries, and many seizures. She spent her first 17 months of life in hospital. Thanks to CHAS, Lynne and Ali were able to take Calla outside for her 1st birthday for the very first time.
In 2018, Calla became big sister to Ailith. In true “life doesn’t do things by halves” fashion, Lynne was diagnosed with cancer during lockdown, went through treatment like the superhero she is, and Ali was made redundant from his job as a pilot. To say this family has been through a lot, is an understatement!
Calla lives at home, uses a wheelchair, has continuous oxygen, lots of medications, and requires 24/7 nursing care. It’s a full-on job — and that’s where CHAS comes in. When the family gets a chance for a much needed break, Calla can go into respite care at Robin House, run by CHAS.
Calla has just turned 10, and has learned to walk in the past couple of years 💃🏼. The doctors said it wouldn’t happen, but clearly they didn’t factor in her sheer determination! Calla is such a special girl, and Moray and I are honoured to call Calla and Ailith our God-daughters.
Please help me raise lots of money for CHAS — so they can keep doing their life-changing work for families like Calla’s. Thank you in advance for your support 💖
