Story

Dear supporters,

Isla along with her family and friends are fundraising! Her cousins Arthur and Alexander and her friends Harriet, Phoebe, Oliver, Joseph and Freddie are joining us this year and we can't thank them enough!

We are excited to share that there is going to be a second edition of the RVI Pier to Pier Walk. The walk was started in 2024 by Isla, who at the age of 8 raised over £2,000 on her 7+ mile walk from South Shields Pier to Roker Pier to raise money for a charity that is very important to her and to us. This charity is the fantastic Allergy Team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle. This year's walk is taking place on August 2nd.

The charity is the Newcastle Hospitals Charity and the specific fund that Isla is raising money for is the REACH-IN Fund, which stands for Research and Education in Allergy for Children in Newcastle.

Why This Walk Matters:

Like many children with allergies, Isla has faced them since she was a baby. Children with allergies encounter many challenges, whether it is kid’s parties, eating out, going on holiday, or school dinners. There are countless hospital appointments for skin prick tests, blood tests, and supervised food challenges. The brilliant support from the allergy team at the RVI gives children the knowledge and resilience needed to stay safe. Now, we want to give back to them, and we are honoured to take part in this challenge.

How You Can Make a Difference:

1. Donate: Every step we take brings us closer to a cure. Your donation, no matter how small, will directly impact children like Isla. Don’t forget to use Gift Aid if you can.

2. Spread the Word: Share Isla’s story with your friends, family, and colleagues. Awareness is key to finding solutions and supporting families dealing with food allergies.

3. Join us! If you are free on August 2nd and want to take part is the walk then please come along. It is a beautiful walk along the coast and is a lovely part of the world to see. If you and your children want to take part, then perhaps you could even fundraise yourself? Just share this page and all funds will be directed to the Newcastle Hospitals Charity.

Together, We Can Make a Difference:

Imagine a world where no child (or their parents!) fears their next meal. With your support, we can fund research, provide resources, and create a brighter future for kids like Isla. Let’s turn our steps into giant leaps toward a cure.

Thank you for your generosity. Your kindness matters more than you know.
