Story
Hello all,
This year, I’m taking on two big challenges to raise money for Mustard Tree, Softcat’s local charity partner, supporting people facing poverty and homelessness across Greater Manchester.
On the 18th of April, I’ll be competing in HYROX Warsaw, aiming to finish the Open event in under 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Then on the 31st of May, I’ll be running the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run Half Marathon, with the goal of completing my first ever half-marathon without stopping.
Both challenges will seriously push me outside my comfort zone, but they feel small compared to the challenges many people in our community face every day.
Mustard Tree works to combat poverty and prevent homelessness by helping people rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence. They provide food, clothing, furniture and essential items alongside crisis support, life skills training, courses and pathways into employment, all under one roof.
Their approach is simple but powerful: not just helping people through difficult moments, but giving them the tools, support and opportunities to move forward long term.
To make things a little more interesting, I’m putting some skin in the game too. If I don’t complete both challenges as planned, I’ll personally match 50% of the total donations (capped at £250). So either way, Mustard Tree wins.
Every donation, no matter the size, genuinely makes a difference and helps Mustard Tree continue supporting individuals and communities across Greater Manchester.
Thank you so much for your support. It means a lot.
Ryan
