Story

My name is Ryan and along with some of my colleagues from First Direct, I am taking part this years Glasgow Kiltwalk and I have chosen to raise funds for Pallister-Killian syndrome (PKS) a charity which is close to our hearts as a family. PKS is an extremely rare genetic condition and occurs for no known reason, it is currently thought that there are around only 500 known cases in the world, it can be hard to diagnose. Most people affected by PKS will have complex needs, including cognitive and developmental delay, low muscle tone, speech delay and in some cases complex medical needs. My nephew Jack was born with condition 3yrs ago and was diagnosed at around 13 months, through the information and support from PKS UK we have been able to be learn more about the condition and how to support Jack. PKS UK are an amazing charity who work tirelessly to support families who are affected by this and also to raise funds for much needed research into the condition. Any donation that can be made will be very much appreciated as it will make a real difference to the charity and the families who are supported by it. Jack is the happiest smiliest little boy and he continues to amaze us every day with the progress that he is making. If you are able to donate you can do so at my just giving page thank you.
