Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving.
Hi, I am Ryan, I have a 6 year old little boy called Mason who has been diagnosed with Autism. He is non-verbal and has severe learning difficulties. Most days he is a happy, fun, loving, energetic boy bouncing around and hysterically laughing to himself. His laugh is soo infectious you can't help but smile. He struggles to communicate or show his feelings and emotions which can then turn into full blown meltdowns, which normally happens in very public places.
So, with me being neurodivergent myself and in a position to know how he feels, I know he is just letting it all out, like a volcano eruption, a little release for him to feel comfortable again and back to his fun loving self. But to the general public who have no idea how vast the Autism Spectrum is and how difficult it can be at times, to them he is that naughty little boy throwing a tantrum because he can't get his own way and we are bad parents who are unable to control our child or discipline him. It can be frustrating for ourselves as he doesnt need discipline he just needs that moment.
The constant looks and comments I have recieved over the years have been disgusting, people should be made aware of how difficult it can be sometimes for both the child and the parents!
So I have decided I’d like to do a charity skydive to raise as much money as I can for the National Autistic Society, who may I add, provide an outstanding job of raising awareness while also helping those people on the spectrum to find ways of coping with the superpowers they have been born with.
I have always wanted to do a skydive but due to my weight I have been unable to unfortunately, although, being on a weightloss journey recently, I am now within the weight criteria to do the jump 🙌🏼So, what better way to celebrate both weight loss and awareness for Neurodiversity than throwing myself out of a plane at 15000 feet… the skydive is booked for 26th July and all funds raised will be sent directly to the National Autistic Society every little helps.
Thank you all for reading 😊
