Story

Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page.

On 27th September 2026, I’ll be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise money for Melanoma UK, a charity that has become incredibly close to my heart.

Earlier this year, my wife was diagnosed with melanoma, a serious and potentially life-threatening form of skin cancer. It was only because a caring friend encouraged her to have a suspicious mole checked that it was caught when it was. That simple conversation may have saved her life, and I’ll always be grateful for it.

Since her diagnosis, she has undergone four surgeries, and our lives changed in an instant. Yet through everything, she has shown a level of strength and resilience that continues to amaze me every single day. She has carried on pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse as a student nurse, while also being an incredible mum to our wonderful four-year-old son. Even on the hardest days, she continues to put others before herself, and I couldn’t be prouder of her.

Hearing the word “cancer” is something no family is ever prepared for. Although we’ve come through so much already, melanoma doesn’t simply disappear from your thoughts. Every new mole, every skin check, and every appointment brings a mixture of hope and anxiety. It’s a constant reminder of how precious life is and how important early detection really can be.

This experience has taught us that melanoma can affect anyone. That’s why I’m taking on this challenge—not only to raise vital funds for Melanoma UK, but also to encourage everyone reading this to check their skin, protect themselves from harmful UV rays, and never ignore something that doesn’t look right. One conversation, one appointment, or one early diagnosis could save a life, just as it may have saved my wife’s.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help Melanoma UK continue their incredible work supporting patients and families, raising awareness, and promoting the importance of early detection.

If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can’t, sharing this page with your friends and family would mean just as much.

Thank you for supporting me, supporting Melanoma UK, and helping us spread a message that could genuinely save lives.
