Story
Yes Team. I'm taking on Lanzarote Ironman on the 17th May 2025.
This is a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and a marathon to finish. Lanza is known to be one of the hardest ironmans out there so it will add an additional challenge with the heat, wind and hills. I have no previous endurance background never having run a half marathon before so it will be a challenge.
I was doing the event for me and wasn't going to try and raise money. However, when things change we need to pivot at times.
A close friend and a crossfit intouch/ascension training OG member Sam Walsh was diagnosed with bowel cancer just over a year ago. Unfortunately, after initial treatments the diagnosis is now terminal. With Sam's permission, I would like to raise money for bowel cancer UK to help stop other people going through what he has.
If you know Sam he is always the guy that walks into the room with a big smile, big personality and will 100% try and wind you up and push your buttons in a nice way 🤣. Underneath being a wind up merchant he is always there to help out, motivate, and get a smile on your face. The big friendly ogre as I call him.
If you are a crossfit Epsom or reigate member and have ever experienced Sam's ring of death that is all thanks to him.
If you are able to spare a quid or 2 please donate.
I will do my best to keep you all updated on my silly adventures and hopefully provide some laughs along the way.
Big thanks
Big love
Let's do our bit and support the wider community.
