Story
For a full weekend in July 2026, and for the first time ever, I will be stepping out onto the Ice for a hockey game, instead of in the stands, all for Bluebell wood. I have worked for Bluebell Wood since December 2024 on the care team and I see first hand how important fund raising efforts are. Below is a brief snapshot of what the money raised helps me and my amazing colleagues achieve every day;
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. They support hundreds of families, both in their hospice and in family homes.
Their support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family; including overnight care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much more.
It costs around £6.5m to keep the doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. Statutory funding makes up 16% of this amount and the rest is raised through fundraising.
