Its that time again for me to ask for your support, as you may or may not know last year i ran the Montane Spine Challenger South ultra in January raising money for Forget Me Not Children's Hospice in Huddersfield who provide vital respite and support not only to Isla, but hundreds of children and families throughout West Yorkshire

This year I am taking on the Montane winter challenger south 160 mile ultra my biggest challenge yet

Isla is an amazing 11 year old girl who spreads love, laughter and energy everywhere she goes. In 2017 our family found Forget Me Not Hospice, Isla was diagnosed with a rare and life limiting condition called Sanfilippo Syndrome. The easiest way to describe it is dementia, but in children, every skill learnt will be lost and most children pass away in their teens. Just a couple of years ago, Isla would have been doing more steps daily than any ultra athlete before breakfast!

As her uncle, I feel honoured to be able to do this on her behalf, I know Isla will be my biggest supporter and motivation, because if she could, she would! And If I can, I will!!

Times are tough for everyone right now, but the hospice receives only 10% of their funding from the government and and rely on donations and fundraising to be able to provide the support and care that they provide. Even if you can only spare a quid or share the link, it would mean so much to the Hospice, our family and many others.

We’re here for any family confronted with the news their child has a life-shortening condition, however, wherever and whenever they need us. By providing superb nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory making, end of life care, bereavement support and counselling, Forget Me Not helps families make the most of every moment they have together.
