At RYA we believe that every child has a right to express themselves freely. We have seen a huge increase in children and young people wanting to get involved in the performing arts. For some parents and guardians, they may not be able to afford the cost that comes with sending their children to theatre school/music lessons.

As you may be aware we held a summer and winter showcase last year, which saw 31 children and young people perform in front of an audience of 200 people. This year we are going much bigger - and our show 'RYA Presents Night At The Musicals' will be happening in August 2024. For us to provide our free performing arts programme, which includes our annual shows, we need to fundraise and secure our own equipment.

Our youth worker, and musical theatre fan Kimberley, will be walking 400 miles from the 1st of February until the 6th of June. On the 7th of June our RYA family will walk 100 more! See what we did there...500 miles in total.. and we might even sing a bit of the Proclaimers along the way :) The money raised will go towards the following:

- Mics

- Speakers

- Lights

- Costumes

- Singing lessons

- Money to hire halls with a stage
