Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Northern Wanderers ( Sue Denford, Sean Radford, Seamus Lynch, James Bosson and Hari Pabla) are aiming to raise as much money as possible for Dementia UK by taking part in a 10 mile charity walk. We would love for you to support us by accompanying us on the walk or by donating generously.

Dementia is a cruel and devastating illness that affects not only individuals, but entire families and communities world wide. It impacts memory, thinking, behaviour and the ability to carry out even the simplest daily tasks—gradually taking away independence and a sense of self.

I have seen the impact of dementia first-hand. My mother was diagnosed in her early 70s, and by the time she passed away at 90, she was a shadow of the person she once was. She had been glamorous, bright, outgoing and outspoken—someone who lit up every room she entered.

By her late 70s, she already needed constant care, supervision and support. It was heart-breaking to watch her struggle daily with confusion, frustration and fear.

We are raising money to support families facing this journey and to help fund vital research into dementia—so that one day, we can find a cure. Currently cancer affects one in two people and Dementia affects one in three. More families than not are affected so we need to unite together to fight this battle.

Please dig deep and support this incredibly important cause. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
