Repton Leisure Centre Hannah's Half Mile Swimathon · 18 May 2025 ·

Join us at Repton Sports Centre on 18th May for our inaugural Hannahs Half sponsored half mile swim for this amazing charity - raising money to build and run a respite lodge for teenage cancer sufferers. In association with Adam Peaty and AP Race.

Story

Maddie & Sienna's sponsored swim!

Our daughters, Maddie (9) and Sienna (7), are both keen swimmers and are taking on a big challenge to support Hannah’s Hope, a charity that helps children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

On 18th May, at Repton, they’ll each be swimming half a mile – 32 lengths of the pool – to raise money and awareness for a great cause. It’s no small feat, especially for their age, but they’ve been working hard and are looking forward to the day.

Swimming is something they both genuinely love, and this is a great opportunity for them to do something positive with it. They’re motivated, focused, and ready to give it their best.

Any support—whether that’s a donation, a share, or just a few words of encouragement—would mean a lot and will go toward helping Hannah’s Hope continue its valuable work.

Thanks for backing them! 💗🏊🏼‍♀️🎖️

Hannah's Hope Charity

Our aim is to build and run a respite lodge on Mercia Marina in Willington, providing much needed joy and restfulness, in a setting immersed in nature.

This is Hannah’s Legacy - this is what she wants to give back. After a devastating diagnosis at 19, Hannah has undergone treatment for a rare and aggressive for of brain cancer, Glioblastoma (GM4) and was given 15 months to live. Following endless chemo and radiotherapy, weight gain from steroids, rapid weight loss and total hair loss, over two and a half years later she is still here and fighting.

The inception of the lodge will see us changing the lives of families with a child age 13-24 who is suffering from this dreadful disease. Bringing families together in a neutral, nurturing environment, away from all the reminders of their reality following a devastating diagnosis. Immersed in nature, but most importantly only seven minutes from the closest A&E department, should the eventuality arise. Please help us achieve our dream!
