Lucas’s illumination&Peak condition fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy UK

Pedal Paddle Peak 2025 - The Lake District · 5 July 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
We're taking on Pedal, Paddle, Peak, in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK because they need support now more than ever, and our muscles matter.
Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and it many cases, it limits lives. MDUK funds groundbreaking research into into treatments and cures as well as providing life-changing individuals and families living with these conditions.
My son Lucas Thomas has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, so fundraising is my small part in helping him and families living with these conditions. So our four man crew, taking on this challenge come from a pyrotechnics crew called AJ pyrotechnics based in Folkestone Kent. We have crewed together for many years now and I’m so grateful that Jamie Wolley, Daniel McCrudden and Ben Wyatt, have joined myself in competing on 5 July 2025. On registration we had to come up with a name for our team, so we wanted to combine the reason why and our association to each other, which lead us to “Lucas’s illumination”. We are eager and motivated for the challenge ahead, combined with fundraising.
In addition to this four man crew, two fantastic gentlemen in Arron Blythe and Spencer Stokes-Hart have chosen this challenge and fund raising for Muscular Dystrophy UK, which I am and all MDUK will eternally grateful. Unfortunately they could not run under the same team name, due to how the GPS tracks the teams over the event, therefore their team name is “Peak condition”. However we can fund raising under the same justgiving page, thank you gentlemen for your support, may be blood and sweet along the way. Look forward to training and completing along side you. So our initial target was £2000, we’ve now up this to £3000 to support a fantastic Charity in Muscular Dystrophy Uk.
All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
