Saad's fundraiser for St Vincent De Paul Society (SVP England and Wales)

Saad Rahim is raising money for St Vincent De Paul Society (SVP England and Wales)
The St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales) is a Christian voluntary organisation which provides practical help to anyone affected by poverty and disadvantage. Our 10,000 volunteers offer friendship to people who are lonely or isolated and we deliver specialist services in local communities.

Story

Next spring, I am embarking on a challenge to raise money for a charity with which I volunteer, the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), which helps people in need in communities across the UK.

My challenge will be to walk 100km of the Camino De Santiago in Spain over six days. I have been fascinated by this medieval pilgrimage route (established in the 9th Century) for years, and so when I heard that the SVP were organising a pilgrimage, I jumped at the opportunity to experience it for myself in aid of an essential frontline charity.

The SVP is dedicated to tackling poverty by supporting vulnerable individuals and families in the UK facing hardship and loneliness. Their wide ranging work to change lives includes running befriending schemes and youth programmes, visiting the lonely, providing financial support and organising social events for the elderly. The money I raise will be split 50/50 between the SVP National and the SVP Conference based at Thomas More Church, Knebworth. Every penny raised will go exclusively to the SVP -- not my expenses!

Now, I enjoy a good walk however not necessarily upwards of 20km per day on six consecutive days. I would be enormously grateful if you would consider supporting me as I risk chronic back pain, blisters and sunburn in the name of a very good cause!

If you've not made a donation through JustGiving before, it is simple, fast and totally secure. All money raised will be sent directly to the SVP, which saves time and cuts admin costs. Your personal details will not be shared.

Please help me walk for a better future for the vulnerable in our community. Thank you so much for your generosity.
