Sab's fundraiser for Be Free Young Carers

Sabiene North is raising money for Be Free Young Carers
Be Free Young Carers is the only charity in Oxfordshire supporting young carers. We support them by widening their life options and improving their emotional and social health, resilience and development. We believe they can be free to fulfil their adult potential unhindered by their childhood role.

Story

🎶 But I would run 1,200 miles 🎶

And I would run 1,200 more,

Just to be the one who helps young carers get the support they’re looking for!

Okay, maybe The Proclaimers didn’t exactly write that song for me… but this year, I’m making it my anthem!

To celebrate Be Free Young Carers’ 30th anniversary, I’m taking on a 12-month charity challenge—running over 1,200 miles across a mix of half marathons, marathons, and ultras to raise funds for the 12,000 young carers in Oxfordshire who go without support every day.

From the London Marathon (backwards! 😳) to the Race to the Stones 100k, I’ll be covering some serious distance. My races might change depending on ballot results, but the challenge remains the same: running my heart out for young carers.

Some might say I’m mad. Maybe I am! But compared to the sacrifices young carers make every day to look after their loved ones, this challenge is nothing.

Every step, every mile, every race—it’s all for them. ❤️

🏃‍♂️ How you can help

Young carers give up so much—let’s give something back. Every donation will go directly to supporting these incredible young people.
