This year, I’m preparing to go on deployment to support aid distribution for orphans — and I can’t stop thinking about what that word orphan really means.

It’s not just a label. It’s a child waking up without the comfort of a parent’s voice. It’s a small hand reaching for someone who isn’t there. It’s a young heart learning far too early what loss feels like — while the world keeps moving around them.

That’s why, this Ramadan, I’m hosting a fundraising Iftar and Ramadan Solidarity event on 6th March. It’s a chance for us to come together in the spirit of mercy, unity, and action — and to turn our fasting into something that truly reaches the most vulnerable.

Every single penny raised will go directly towards providing emergency aid for orphans.

What will happen on the day

We’re coming together to make this meaningful — and memorable — with:

An auction of signed memorabilia, including football merchandise from first teams, signed boxing gloves, and match experiences

Raffles with some incredible prizes

Community stalls selling homemade cakes and treats, canvas art, henna, and handmade candles, diffusers, and soaps

Right now, Lonely Orphans is delivering vital food packs to support vulnerable Gazan children and families who have been displaced to Egypt. These families have already lost so much — homes, stability, safety — and now many are facing something even more terrifying: not knowing if they will be able to feed their children tomorrow.

A mother should never have to water down food to make it last.

A child should never have to sleep through hunger.

Each food parcel is designed to sustain a family for an entire month and includes essentials such as rice, pasta, cooking oil, dates, spices, and other staple ingredients — carefully chosen to provide balanced nourishment and allow families to prepare meals with dignity.
