Hello everyone.

Here is an update (click watch YouTube video above) or more to the point the evidence that the abseil was completed last Sunday. It was not for the faint hearted watching from below. We are so proud of Sean and have no doubt at all, that Sadie was guiding him through so effortlessly!

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, you generosity will benefit so many children and their families. We have decided to leave the link open for another few days for anyone who would still like to make a donation.

A special word of thanks to Michael Kerr from MFC Sports for the most beautiful custom made memorial t-shirts for the event. I am sure you will agree they are beautiful just like our little Sadie was. Not forgetting all the supporters on the day, who came to cheer Sean on. It was a hard day but a good day in her memory and as the song in the reel says “For you” Sadie this was all “For you”.

Our Story:

Most people who know me and my family, will know our unfortunate and heartbreaking story. For those of you who may not. One of our three beautiful daughter’s, Sadie was diagnosed with a DIPG Brain tumour at the age of 5 years 10 months old in October 2023.

As you can imagine Sadie’s life was turned upside down in seconds. Sadie was immediately placed under the care of the amazing team at The Children’s Cancer Unit which is based in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and every child in Northern Ireland who receives a cancer or complex blood disorder diagnosis will be treated here, regardless of where they come from. The Charity supports the work of the Unit, helping to fund vital resources, staff and specialised care, equipment and infrastructure and contributing to research and a range of family support services to support children and young people living with cancer and their families throughout Northern Ireland.

The support we received from Sadie’s first appointment, in such difficult circumstances was incredible, a place and people who soon became just like family. Sadie was treated with love, kindness and like the only girl in this world who mattered and as a Daddy and parents that is what our special little girl deserved.

Our hearts are broken beyond repair, as Sadie sadly passed away one year ago on the 16th April 2024. We will forever cherish every day we had with Sadie and the lasting memories we were able to make. This was all done with the help of everyone at the unit and by facilitating our wish to bring Sadie back home to Boho for her final days. Time we are eternally grateful for.

I am taking on new heights and have signed up to the challenge of abseiling down Belfast’s iconic Europa Hotel Belfast on the 18th May 2025, to raise funds for this charity that will be forever close to our hearts.

If even one family can benefit from the amount I raise, I’ll know I have made a difference in our precious Sadie’s memory.

I am aware there have been and are lots of fundraising efforts for many different charities recently, all who are worthy of every penny.

If you can spare £1 or £5 please know this money makes a difference for families who are going through something most people could never imagine. I hope they never will.
