Louis & Family 5k run in memory of Sadie Jordan

5K Family Fun Run · 17 September 2023
Louis would love to raise £540 to buy a minimum of 6 memory boxes (£90 each) for families with poorly babies like his baby sister.
From Louis (big brother Aged 8).
On the 9th July 2023 my little sister Sadie was born asleep.
When I found out my mummy was pregnant I just cried because I was so so happy. I've always wanted a little sister. They are so cute. I used to talk to my little sister all the time when she was in there.
My mummy & daddy told me she was poorly but I didn't think I'd not get to play with her and make her laugh. My mummy's bump was big now.
Then one morning, my mummy and daddy told me they had some important news that my little sister was now very poorly and mummy is going into hospital and when she gets back my little sister won't be in her tummy anymore. I was so sad and me and Billy my little brother kissed mummy's bump and held it. My mummy was just crying and couldn't stop.
Whilst they were away for a few days, we stopped at Pippy and Poppa's house and they really looked after us.
When mummy and daddy got home they were very sad and me too, as mummy's bump wasn't there anymore. Well it was a bit but my sister wasn't in there anymore and that made me sad.
Mummy and daddy were given a box which had memories of her in it from the Lily Mae foundation which were so nice. We called our little sister Sadie. It was one of mummy's favourite names on her list.
In the box there was a teddy because the other one stayed with Sadie and mummy also got a book she could write in, a candle and handprints of Sadie so we could see her hands and feet. Mummy will also be getting a necklace made too with her footprint.
Me (8) and Billy (6), got a rucksack too full of things. It had a book to write our feelings in, a book about babies being poorly in mummy's tummy and how they live in the sky and lots of other goodies to help us as we missed our baby sister so much.
Mummy is now also seeing the people who gave her the special box to help her mind a bit as she gets very sad and needs to talk to someone. These people are so kind.
We talk about Sadie a lot and all these things have helped so much. I cuddle my Sadie teddy every night when I go to bed.
I am going to run 5 kilometres which I've never done before with my family. We would like to raise enough money to buy 6 memory boxes for other families to be able to have these special memories for their poorly babies as it meant so much to mummy and daddy. Each box costs £90.
If we get anymore we would put that towards:
More memory boxes: £90 each
121 therapy session: £40 each
Sibling packs: £25 each
Please help us if you can even if it's just a tiny bit.
Thank you. This will make mummy and daddy so happy.
Love Louis xxxx
We are so proud of Louis for wanting to do this and helping make a rubbish situation bring out some good and support others who unfortunately will have to go through this. We had the most amazing care from the nhs, the midwives and bereavement midwives and other charities too.
Lily Mae stood out for us because we hadn’t even thought about any of this and as it’s still so raw it is definitely helping with the grieving. If we can give a little something back then this also helps us as a family and gives what we went through some kind of purpose whilst we still await any kind of reason for this. It’s just so sad anyone has to go through it.
Sending hugs to those or anyone you know that has been effected by this, like us, as it’s just far too many. This is the first time we’ve felt brave enough to tell our story but if it helps others we will. ❤️
