Story
On 23rd June, Claire and Marty welcomed their beautiful daughter Sadie into the world.
Sadie lived for just a few precious hours, but in those hours she was surrounded by so much love. Claire and Marty were supported by an incredible team of midwives, both from the delivery ward and the Pregnancy Assessment Unit, whose compassion and care helped them through an unimaginable time.
In Sadie’s memory, we want to raise money towards the development of a brand-new maternity bereavement suite at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
The County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is developing plans for a dedicated space where families experiencing the loss of a baby can have privacy, peace and time together, away from the busy maternity environment.
For families facing the loss of their precious baby, having a calm and compassionate space can make an immeasurable difference. It provides somewhere to make memories, to spend those precious moments together and to be supported with dignity and kindness at a time when everything feels impossible.
Claire and Marty have chosen to turn their love for Sadie into something that could help other families in the future.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean so much and would help contribute towards creating this invaluable space for families who sadly find themselves facing a loss like theirs.
Every donation will be made in Sadie’s memory, so that although her time was heartbreakingly short, her memory can help make a difference to other families for years to come.
For Sadie, forever loved, forever remembered. 🤍
