Story

Help Build a Stronger, More Connected Community with Imdadiyyah!

Every Ramadhan I find a cause that resonates with me and work on actively fundraising for it. Alhamdulillah my close family and friends always support it. This year l've decided to fundraise for a cause very close to my heart. The imdadiyyah renovation project, this Ramadhan I ask that you please help support their renovation project, allowing them to expand the space and improve the facilities. It's a form of sadaqah jariyah that will never die, alhamdulillah the reward for facilitating spreading beneficial knowledge is ongoing and immense. Plus, you will undoubtedly be updated on the progress by yours truly. I will be eternally grateful and then I can finally build a social circle in Sheffield aye!

When I moved to Sheffield, I quickly realised how much I had taken for granted back home — the sense of community, family and friends to turn to, a sense of familiarity. Moving to a new city is exciting, but it can also feel pretty isolating. You leave behind your support system and suddenly you’re starting again. Living with a masjid and various faith based organisations on my doorstep my whole life, it was a shock to the system to search for community events and find none. I found that the Sheffield Muslim community is very scattered and disconnected. We live in times where so many of us work from the comfort of our homes, which is a blessing alhamdulillah but it makes it so much more important to have a strong social circle. We need spaces where we feel welcomed, understood, and spiritually uplifted.

Alhamdulillah last summer I discovered Imdadiyyah teaching centre also have a sisters only online & in person community, they have weekly sisters burdah gatherings. I overcame the hurdle of it not being walking distance from my home (personal chauffeur aka husband) lol! Having enrolled on the essential fard’al ayn course last year, I found myself constantly thinking how much I would love for the classes to be held in person, especially with tajweed which isn’t easy for a partially deaf individual to learn over zoom. The course content thus far has been extremely beneficial alhamdulillah but they do not currently have the facilities to give the option of large in person classes. When they are able to I look forward to working with the team to improve resource accessibility for people with disabilities or impairments Insha’Allah.

This centre has huge potential and having heard so many of Ustadh/Imam Asad’s plans and desire to help support the Muslim community, not just in Sheffield but nationwide is honestly so uplifting. The roadblock seems to be the renovation, every idea he shares with his students or we share, always gets met with ‘Insha’Allah once the renovations are complete’.

& so I made intention to help

SO LET’S HELP COMPLETE IT & FACILITATE LEARNING & GROWTH FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH!
