Story
Hello friends and family!
I am taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon to fundraise for a charity close to my heart - Food For Life Global, the largest plant-based food charity in the world. I am so happy I am able to take part this year. Last year, I pulled out of the race due to my long-term back injury.
I started volunteering for Food For Life Cardiff in the first lockdown of 2020 when many people had to isolate and nourishing food was inaccessible. Ty Krishna, who run the Cardiff division, is a community of generous, warm-hearted and selfless people who work hard to provide comforting free meals to those in need in Cardiff.
It would mean so much to me if you donated to my fundraiser to help Food For Life Cardiff reach more people through their meal service. Even £2 would help a lot!
The Cardiff Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday 1st October, the day before I begin the final year of my degree! It is a 13.1mi (21.1km) race starting in the City Centre and finishing near Alexandra Gardens. My goal is to finish the race in under 2h30mins. To prepare, I am doing a combination of strength and endurance training as well as gentle swimming and pilates to prevent injury. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a fun and successful race day!
