In April 2025, I’m running a Madrid Half Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Cancer is a devastating disease that touches so many lives—it has deeply impacted my own family. I’m running in honor of Tulia, Grandad Bruce, Nanny Hazel and Nanny Wendy, as well as everyone who has faced or is currently facing this battle.

As I begin my training, I know I have a huge challenge ahead. The race itself will take place in Madrid, where my family lives, and the surprisingly high altitude combined with the heat will make for particularly difficult running conditions. However, every time I lace up my shoes, I’ll be inspired by the incredible resilience of those fighting cancer, and that will keep me going.

Cancer is one of the biggest health challenges of our time, affecting millions of people worldwide. The work being done by Cancer Research UK is vital in developing better treatments, improving early detection, and ultimately saving lives.

There’s absolutely no pressure to donate, but if you can, it would mean the world to me. Even a small amount makes a big difference. And if donating isn’t for you, your motivational messages (or funny ones to keep me going on those tough training days) would be so appreciated…. I’m going to need it!
