The team at St Andrew’s Hospice are proud (and slightly nervous) to be taking to the water on 12th July as part of the Dragon Boat Race at Alexandra Dock, organised by the Rotary Club of Grimsby.

Our participation in the event is especially meaningful as we celebrate the birthday of Andy’s, the hospice’s dedicated children’s unit, which has provided specialist care and support to local children and their families for 25 years.

Consequently, donations will go towards Andy’s, helping the hospice to continue delivering compassionate care to children with life-limiting illnesses. It costs over £7 million a year to run the hospice as an entity, yet only 18% of this comes from the government. Therefore, the hospice’s funding depends largely on the generosity of the local community.

As the only local children’s hospice, each donation helps to ensure that children and families across Lincolnshire, Hull and the East Riding continue to receive outstanding care, support and dignity when they need it most.
