Little Hearts - Eliza Aamina Miah

Asalaam wa Alaikum.

Our daughter Eliza Aamina was born on the 9th of October 2021. She’ll be turning 1 soon InshaAllah. Her birth was a blessing with ease and no complications.

However, the last 10 months have been very difficult for us as a family. Eliza was hospitalised at 4 weeks needing oxygen to help her fight a lung infection and soon after we were told Eliza was born with a heart defect called ASD( Atrial Septal Defect).It’s a very common heart defect and nearly 25% of the population have it.

On June 7th 2022 we had a 6 monthly check up for Eliza. We assumed it would just be a routine appointment and we would carry on with our plans following the appointment.

We were told that Eliza would have to have Open Heart Surgery due to the hole becoming bigger and affecting the right side of her heart. As parents , we were so shocked we didn’t actually digest what the consultant had said to us. I was fighting back tears because no one wants to hear that their 7 month old child needs to have open heart surgery in order to survive and live a healthy life.

It took us a few weeks to process the news. I have accepted Allahs plan for her and I know Allah does everything for the best.

Eliza will undergo surgery within the next 1-2 months. Please keep in her in your duas.

We are so greatful that we live in the UK and have access to the NHS and Great Orsmond Street Hosppital. Allahumdililah.

But many children are no so fortunate.

MundataAaid Charity have done excessive work on the “Little Hearts “ campaign.

So far they have travelled to 11 countries and completed 2329 life saving operations.

The organisation sends teams of world class medical experts and cardiologists to hospitals deprived and impoverished communities throughout Africa and Asia, on 7 to 10 day missions, working day and night, to perform an average of 50 operations and surgical procedures to heal little hearts.

The primary aim of the project, is to identify children with congenital heart defects and provide treatment by way of catheterization intervention or open heart / keyhole surgery, whichever is the most appropriate in the circumstances and ultimately heal their “Little Hearts”.

So please help us raise money for 1 heart surgery to be undertaken for a child. May Allah accept this as sadaqah jariya for you.
