SAIF's Charity of the Year 2025/6: PROSTATE CANCER UK

Ross Hickton is raising money for PROSTATE CANCER UK

Several fundraising activities

1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. At Prostate Cancer UK, we’re giving every man the power to navigate it. With over £100 million invested in research, treatment, and care, we’re building a future where prostate cancer no longer cuts men’s lives short. Together, we can help save men’s lives.

Story

It is traditional for the SAIF President to select a charity to raise funds for through their year as President.

This year Ross Hickton is president, and the charity is one close to home for him, his brother Greg and sister Jodie.

Their father, Trevor Hickton, passed away in September 2024 after a long and private battle with prostate cancer. The aim is to raise funds, and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

Throughout the year there will be many events to raise money, and a 50k canal walk from Worcester to Birmingham has been planned for July.
