Story
We’ve been friends since we were babies 13 years ago, and love growing up together near the sea. We are fortunate to have been outside exploring on boats from an early age supported by our friends and family, and now we enjoy competing in teams at national events.
Sailing has given us so much already; not just technical ability on the water, but also the feeling of confidence, development of our communication and leadership skills, and of course making new friends. This summer, for the first time ever, we’re going to set ourselves a challenge: to sail 10 miles across the Solent in a dinghy by ourselves from Chichester Harbour to Bembridge on the Isle of Wight.
By completing this challenge, we want to draw attention to the fantastic work of the Tall Ships Youth Trust, which is the oldest youth development sail training charity in the UK. It gets young people on the water, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds who would otherwise not have the opportunity to do so. By sponsoring us in our Solent crossing you will help the Tall Ships Youth Trust continue their excellent work, enabling other young people to develop new skills outdoors, and hopefully find their new passion as we have done.
Thanks for your support
