Story
We’re excited to be taking part in the Lions on the Loose Art Trail, to support St Clare Hospice.
In summer 2026, Harlow and Epping will burst into life with colour, creativity and community spirit as the Lions on the Loose art trail arrives in our towns.
For eight unforgettable weeks, a pride of majestic lion sculptures will appear across streets, parks and open spaces. Each lion will be uniquely decorated by a talented artist and sponsored by a local business or organisation. Together, they will create a free, family-friendly art trail celebrating everything that makes our communities special.
The lion is a powerful symbol of strength, courage and unity—values that reflect the work of St Clare Hospice and the spirit of the communities it serves across West Essex and parts of eastern Hertfordshire. Visitors will be invited to explore the trail, discover beautiful artworks and see their towns from a whole new perspective.
At the end of the trail, in October 2026, the lion sculptures will be auctioned at a special event called The Mane Event, raising vital funds for the hospice.
At Saint Nicholas School we have been given the task of decorating our own Lion!
If you would like to add your own doodle on the Saint Nicholas lion, you can!
All you need to, is enter by clicking on the link and donate one pound per design. Once you have donated online, you can pick up a design template from your class teachers. You can donate as much or as many times as you like!
We’re fundraising to help St Clare Hospice continue providing vital care for local patients and families. Every donation helps us make a difference and supports our students in bringing their creativity to life.
As you are aware, Saint Clare’s Hospice is the chosen charity for Saint Christopher. It is one of the most important local charities we are supporting as a school this year. It is now time to work with our local community and try and raise as much money as we can! Let’s do this!
Thank you for joining us on this exciting adventure!
