Saiqa’s Sassy Squad is coming together with one mission: to give back to a ward that gives everything, every single day.

The Medical Assessment Unit at Heartlands Hospital is more than just a hospital ward — it’s a place where lives are held, comfort is given, and dignity is protected during some of the most difficult moments a person and their family can face. From young people aged 16 and above to the elderly, the ward supports patients living with dementia, battling mental health challenges, facing drug and alcohol dependency, receiving acute medical care, and those nearing the end of life.

Behind every patient is a team of incredible staff who work tirelessly around the clock. They don’t just provide treatment — they offer compassion, patience, and humanity when it’s needed most. They are the reassuring voice in the night, the steady hand in moments of fear, and the quiet strength families rely on.

But they can’t do it alone.

The funds we raise will go directly towards improving patient care — helping to provide vital equipment that can ease discomfort, support recovery, and maintain dignity. Just as importantly, it will also support the wellbeing of the staff who give so much of themselves every day. Because caring for others starts with making sure those who care are supported too.
