Story

Cancer has deeply touched the lives of many of my close friends and family—some still bravely fighting this cruel disease today.

That’s why I’m proud to be supporting Prevent Breast Cancer, a charity dedicated to promoting early diagnosis, screening, and lifestyle changes to stop breast cancer before it starts.

We’re incredibly lucky to have the Prevent Breast Cancer centre right on our doorstep at The Nightingale Hospital in Manchester. And now, Team Empower is stepping up—literally! I am taking part in a 12-Hour Danceathon, where 35 fabulous women will dance the day (and night) away to raise vital funds for this incredible cause.

Every single donation makes a difference—whether big or small. Your kindness and generosity will help save lives.

This year, the team at LCap will be undertaking various fundraising activities to raise vital funds for Prevent Breast Cancer's NBIA campaign.

Prevent Breast Cancer are addressing the serious workforce shortages within breast imaging. The challenges have led to delays in breast cancer diagnosis, closure of breast centres, and reduced recruitment to research studies. Together, the charities launched a £3.9 million appeal for a new National Breast Imaging Academy, Build To Beat Breast Cancer. Work has already started on the building and there is just circa £250,000 left to raise before they can officially open the doors.

The National Breast Imaging Academy will offer excellent workforce training facilities, enable an extra 13,000 patients be seen each year and offer additional capacity for research into breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
