Story
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It’s hard to imagine needing urgent medical help for someone you love and knowing the nearest clinic is a two-day walk away. But for many families in sub-Saharan Africa, that’s just part of everyday life. And even when healthcare is available, getting there safely is often another huge challenge. This is one of the many issues Transaid is working hard to tackle through its transport and healthcare programmes.
That’s a big part of why I’ve signed up for one of their cycle rides. With the support of my employer, I’ll be joining three colleagues as Team Microlise to take on the 'Kili to Coast' challenge - cycling all the way from Mount Kilimanjaro to the Indian Ocean.
It’s definitely not going to be an easy ride. Over five days, we’ll cover around 450 km across some pretty tough terrain in Tanzania. There’ll be long days on the bike, plenty of heat, steep climbs, and some very remote stretches. It’s going to push us all quite a bit - which is an understatement!
But it’s all for a great cause. Every kilometre we ride will help raise money for Transaid’s work, supporting safer, more reliable transport so people can reach healthcare, education, and job opportunities.
Any support you can give really will make a difference - helping more people get the care they need and supporting efforts to reduce road traffic deaths.
Thanks for taking the time to read this - your support genuinely will make difference.
