Story

Hospice at home team were absolutely amazing. They provided the dignity, Care, support and peace when we needed it most to fulfil Dave’s wish to pass away at home. I want to ensure other families can receive that same incredible support that we had. .

Between March 2024 and July 2025 my life was hit by a storm of . just 16 months I said goodbye to 5 of the most important souls in my world :

my beautiful Mum

my amazing husband Dave

three of my most loyal dogs

Its been a year of’just surviving’but now I’m trying hard to reclaim my strength.

I’ve been through the storm and now I’m raising the roof for the people who helped us.

June 24th marks the first anniversary of losing Dave – on what would have been his ‘mums 100th birthday - a week later July 1st would’ve been my mum and dads 65th wedding anniversary.

A week of incredible legacies. To bridge these memorable dates I am braving the shave on June 27th at 2 pm and donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust and raise vital funds for Treetops Hospice at home team .

When Dave was terminally ill, his last wish was to pass away at home - The Treetops nurses and carers were the ones who made his final wish come true. They were absolutely amazing providing the dignity care and support that allowed us to be together until his last breath.. they were my lifeline – I now want to be theirs, so I am doing this to help make it possible for other families get that same incredible support.
