Thanks for taking the time to visit my page!
My name is Sally and this year I have been taking part in research at a general practice for people experiencing homelessness as part of my BMSc in International Health. I have seen first hand the significant struggle that people affected by homelessness experience. This has inspired me to get involved with a local charity called Eagles Wings Trust which helps to provide support and rehabilitate those experiencing homelessness in Dundee.
Eagles Wings Trust run a mobile soup kitchen for people affected by homelessness in Dundee city centre. Typically 30-50 people attend this service every evening, most living with addictions, mental health problems and extreme poverty. This charity offers ongoing support by providing a lunchtime drop in service. They have regular visits from the Homeless Health Team and Street Feet, a podiatry service.
On the 4th of May my dad and I will be taking part in the Tiree half marathon to raise funds for this amazing charity. This will be a huge challenge - my dad said I'd never be able to do it!! All the money that is raised will go directly to maintaining these services in Dundee. We hope to raise as much as possible with the aim of helping those affected by homelessness in Dundee.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and considering donating to this great cause!!
