Walking 190km to Fight Food Poverty – Please Support Trafford North Foodbank

Sally Pawlik is raising money for Trafford North foodbank

Tour of Mont Blanc · 4 July 2025

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Story

Our 190km Walk for Trafford North Foodbank

This July, me and Pete will be taking on the 10-day, 190km Tour de Mont Blanc to raise money for Trafford North Foodbank – a cause very close to my heart.

I’ve been volunteering there for over 6 years and currently serve as Chair of the Trustees. We see first-hand the growing number of people in crisis: parents skipping meals so their children can eat, people who’ve worked all their lives but find themselves tipped into hardship by a sudden bill or change in circumstances.

Trafford North Foodbank provides not just emergency food parcels, but a warm welcome and practical support. We work with Citizens Advice and other partners to help our clients stabilise their finances and hopefully move forward.

All donations go directly to the foodbank. We’ve paid for the trip ourselves – your money goes where it’s needed most.

It’s going to be a tough walk. I’m a little nervous as my knee has been playing up but every step will be powered by your kindness and generosity. We like a challenge!

Thanks so much for helping
