Supporting Cancer Research Wales at London Marathon 2025

Story

I will be raising money in memory of my Dad who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2008, unfortunately the cancer had spread and was incurable but they would try to contain it. His Doctor in Velindre hospital suggested he joined a clinical trial funded by Cancer Research Wales which extended his life significantly and from this he went on to meet his granddaughters and great granddaughters before passing away peacefully at home in 2019. I want to give something back to Cancer Research Wales by running the London Marathon and raising money for them which in turn I hope will help other families like they helped ours ❤️

Cancer Research Wales have a vision where Wales will unite against cancer through world-class research. Together they will reduce the impact of cancer and improve unacceptable survival rates. They will work to make sure that the people of Wales do not have to accept cancer as a life-threatening disease. And they will do this by supporting the best cancer researchers and clinicians to make discoveries which will transform lives.

Our DNA is what makes us human, but its also what sets us apart. Its what makes us who we are, and ultimately, its what drives us forward to change cancer outcomes across Wales.

Wales is a part of our very make-up. Everything CRW do is for the people of Wales, and their work is putting our country on the map as a place of innovation and research, while changing lives for cancer patients here in Wales
