Sam's fundraiser for Havant & East Hants Mind

Sam Acton is raising money for Havant & East Hants Mind

Team: Team fundraising for Havant & East Hants Mind in memory of John Michael Mahon.

Great South Run 2025 · 19 October 2025 ·

We work to promote good mental health within our locality. We seek to support and empower people to lead a full life as part of their local community.

Story

On 19th October, I am running the Great South Run for Havant and East Hampshire Mind (HEH Mind). HEH Mind is a local, independent mental health charity that works to promote good mental health and empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives within their communities. They offer a range of services for both young people and adults, including wellbeing support, crisis services, and workplace wellness initiatives. More information of their work can be found here: https://www.easthantsmind.org/.

Additionally, I am part of the team raising money for the charity in memory of John Michael Mahon, a beloved dad and grandad who battled with Bipolar disorder for the majority of his life but sadly lost his life to pneumonia. Despite Michael's decline in mental and physical health, he pushed himself every day to walk up the road with the aid of his walker. So in light of his recent passing, myself and his family are taking on the challenge & running the Great South Run in his honour!

Please support us by donating to this fundraising page. Your donation, however big or small, will help ensure that information and support is available for everyone via Havant and East Hants Mind's website, the helplines they run and throughout their online community, Side by Side.

Thank you.
