Story
This October Sam, Neil, Thomas and I are going to be walking one mile every day for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation — in honour of our incredible mum/granny.
She’s been living with incurable lung cancer for almost three years. That sentence still doesn’t feel real. What we do know is this: if it wasn’t for fundraising and research, the newer treatments that have kept her with us simply wouldn’t have been there. Those extra years — ordinary days, conversations, time we refuse to take for granted — exist because people donated before us.
So now it’s our turn.
We’ll walk a mile a day. Every step will be for our mum and also for the next family hoping for the same precious time we’ve been given.
The money raised funds research, support and care so that lung cancer is caught earlier, treated more gently, and survived more often. We have already seen what that work can do. We want it to do more.
Any donation, however small, helps. Thank you for walking this with us.
