Story
I’ve recently started working in the employment support sector, and am massively inspired by the charities, companies and public sector bodies I work with who support people looking for work. As someone who’s always sought (and mostly found!) meaning and growth in my career, I’m so pleased to be both working and fundraising to support others to do the same. That’s why I’m going to be running the Royal Parks Half on behalf of Breaking Barriers.
Breaking Barriers is a specialist charity helping refugees to find meaningful employment. Refugees flee their homes in fear from war, persecution, and violence. And more hardship awaits in the UK. A new country and culture. A different language. Stigma and suspicion. Refugees are four times more likely to be unemployed, and many face these barriers alone.
Breaking Barriers offers 1-2-1 advice, education and work opportunities to overcome these challenges. Together, they help remarkable people to build new lives.
Please help me support Breaking Barriers to continue doing their life-changing work!
