Hi, I'm Sam Bear, Head of 'Fun-raising' at Woking & Sam Beare Hospice. We recently launched our ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS APPEAL to raise £500K by March 2025 for the amazing place that I work.
I was thinking the other day how there is always someone asking for a donation for something these days. Often we are put off as we see others donating £10 or more and a lot of us can’t afford to do this. We could afford to give £2 but don’t want people to then think we ‘only gave a small amount and should give more!’
I WANT TO BREAK THIS WAY OF THINKING!
So, I've come up with my own challenge - THE £2 CHALLENGE - to do my little bit towards the Appeal! If this resonates with you, please donate £2 and know that if 10 of you do this, that’s £20… or in other words, an hour of care for a patient in our Inpatient Unit.
Donate £2 and share this on your socials with all your friends. Imagine if they then follow your lead and all donate £2 themselves and share it with their friends. The £2 challenge could raise an amazing amount to support our Appeal and we would all be a small part that together makes a huge difference.
I see the difference my inspiring colleagues make to patients and their families as they come into their lives and I can’t shout loudly enough about what amazing people they are. They will always be in my heart.
